Grievance Process
Kolbe values its partnership with families and upholds the principle of subsidiarity in its grievance process. This principle asserts that matters should be handled at the most local and effective level. Accordingly, we encourage parents to address grievances directly with the appropriate staff members.
If anyone has a current complaint, criticism, or concern, it is expected the following steps be followed in the first instance:
Speak to the appropriate school person involved (e.g., class teacher) first and try to resolve the concern with mutual respect and clear communication. Where/if possible, make an appointment with the relevant person.
If this meeting does not resolve your issue, please follow chain of command and request to speak to the relevant administrator.
The administrator (or designee) will attempt to mediate and find a resolution to the issue.
It is important to note that criticism regarding a faculty/staff member will only be heard if it is related to their professional conduct.
Deliberate breaches and inability to respect Kolbe’s Parent and Primary educator responsibilities (see above) or exasperating complaints, may result in termination of enrollment for the family or student.
