Our Mission

Dedicated to the pursuit of truth, wisdom, and virtue as the primary and prescriptive ends of education in the Catholic tradition, Kolbe Academy aids students in acquiring the skills of the liberal arts, assists in forming classically educated students to develop a mature intellect, and cultivates openness to the call to holiness.

Our Vision

Kolbe Academy supports families in forming classically trained young men and women according to the unbroken tradition and teachings of the Catholic Church. Following in the footsteps of our patron, St. Maximilian Kolbe, we purposefully utilize technology to provide distance learning and comprehensive tools to students and home educators worldwide. Kolbe Academy is committed to the pursuit of truth, wisdom, and virtue as the primary end of authentic education, all for the greater glory of God.

Principle of Subsidiarity

The principle of subsidiarity states that nothing should be done by a larger and more complex organization that can be done as well or better by a smaller and simpler organization. At Kolbe Academy, this principle underpins our mission to encourage families to be independent, self-reliant, and confident in educating their children at home. We recognize and value that by choosing home education parents are embracing their role as the primary educators of their children.

Kolbe Academy provides a general framework to guide parents, empowering them with the freedom and responsibility to make day-to-day decisions in their children’s education. Parents have the flexibility to adapt many of Kolbe’s materials and determine their child’s educational pace. Kolbe Academy supports these efforts by overseeing course approvals from K-12 and awarding high school credit, ensuring alignment with established academic standards. We are committed to partnering with families to balance flexibility with the assurance of a trusted, high-quality education.

At Kolbe Academy, we believe in fostering an educational environment that is built upon a partnership between parents, teachers, students, and staff that is characterized by the utmost trust, respect, and Christian charity. We expect all members of this partnership— parents, teachers, students, and staff alike—to approach each other and communicate with each other with a spirit of goodwill and charity, understanding the challenges they all may encounter while striving to provide students with the best possible learning experiences and formation.
